ABSTRACT

The 20th century, especially the Post-War Period, has witnessed great spiritual stress and stains, therefore, it has been rightly regarded as ‘The Age of Alienation’. In this age, man is brought face to face with confusion, frustration, disintegration, disillusionment and meaninglessness in life. Though alienation made its first appearance in the classical sociological works of the 19th century and the early 20th century written by Karl Marx, Emily Durkheim, Furdinand Tonnie, Max Webster and George Simmel, these writers look upon alienation as a social, psychological face and believe that it is the experience of powerlessness and the sense of estrangement. On the other hand, there are writers who differ in their definitions and assumptions of alienation.

ABSTRACT

Ragi or finger millet  (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn.) is an important crop used for food, forage, and industrial products. It is distributed in tropical and temperate regions of the world. Induced mutation by EMS and DES has been found to be a very useful technique for crop improvement. Apart from this, the proper use of induced mutation in plant breeding has become a profitable approach. For the present study, the seeds of Finger millet (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn.). were treated with different concentrations of EMS (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50mM)   and  (20, 30, 40, 50 and 60mM) of DES. This investigation was carried out to determine the effect of EMS and DES on M₂ and M₃ generation, Plant height(cm), Number of leaves per plant, Leaf length (cm/plant), Number of  finger per plant, Finger length (cm/plant), Days to first bloom, Yield per plant (g) and 1000 grains weight (g) . All parameters evaluated and showed significant differences among the different concentration of mutagenic treatments. EMS was found to be quite effective in inducing genetic variability in M₂ and M₃ generation than DES. The results revealed significant difference in all the traits studied. The study further revealed that the use of EMS both generations is an effective approach for creating improved varieties in (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn.)  Var- Co 13.

This article seeks to discuss the Payments Banking model launched by the Reserve Bank of India with a view to bring the unbanked and banked population of India within the fold of the Digital India vision. This article discusses the measures taken by the RBI to set up and regulate payments banks in various locations of India in order to offer convenience of digital transactions for all. We gauge the progress of this program and identify the hindrances that deter the Payments Bank model from reaching its highest potential.

ABSTRACT

‘Imperialism’ as a political juggernaut has an old history since the British, the French, the Spanish and the Portuguese had employed it as a means to carry on trade and colonial expansion in the African and Asian continents. ‘Imperialism’ is one of the complex and controversial terms in the present century. It has acquired a varied range of meanings for the colonizer and colonized. Earlier it simply meant ‘command or superior power’ over other countries (Loomba 4). The Oxford English Dictionary defines ‘imperialism’ as “the fact of a powerful country increasing its influence over other countries through business, culture etc” (Wehmeier 649).

Sport has been recognized as a crucial development tool to assist the youth, especially the social and emotional development of the underprivileged and neglected people. The UN recognizes the importance of developing specific sports-based curricula for the holistic development of youth. A review of worldwide studies on the consequences of play and physical activity on children's social and emotional development has also found that there are numerous benefits to social communication, along with side confidence and confidence building. It’s also said that physical activity can have a positive effect on the psychological state of youngsters. This paper focused on the importance of physical education in the modern age.

Thomas Edison who projected the first motion picture in the year 1896 a t  Koster  &    Biial’s   Music  Hall in New York City and whose innovations include the incandescent electric bulb and the phonograph said the following about the future of motion picture:” The motion picture is destined to revolutionize our educational system ,and in a few years it will supplant largely ,if not entirely the use of textbooks”.

ABSTRACT

यह सत्य है कि आज अपेक्षाकृत अधिक संख्या में स्त्रियां, घर से बाहर निकल कर विभिन्न प्रकार के कार्य कर रही हैं लेकिन सिक्के का दूसरा पहलू यह है कि आज भी अधिकतर औरतें निम्न स्तर के कार्यों में ही अधिक लगी हुयी हैं और ऊंचे ओहदे पर स्त्रियों की संख्या अपेक्षाकृत बेहद कम है । और इस दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण तथ्य के पीछे का कारण है, स्त्रियों में शिक्षा की कमी । औरतें, मिलों व कारखानों में  मजदूरी करती हुई और निर्माण कार्यों में सिर पर ईंट ढोती तो आसानी से दिख जायेगी लेकिन कंपनियों या सरकारी कार्यालयों में ऊंचे ओहदों पर औरतों की संख्या बहुत कम है ।

ABSTRACT

आदिवासी लोक संस्कृतीची भारतातील सर्व संस्कृतीत वेगळी ओळख आहे. प्राचीन आदिवासींच्या संस्कृतीत मानवाच्या उत्क्रांतीचा इतिहास दडलेला आहे. आदिवासी समुदायाच्या जन्मजात गुणांमध्ये साधेपणा, उत्स्फूर्तता, समुदायीकता,  बंधुत्व, सत्य, प्रामाणिकपणा, परिश्रम, सामूहिकता, समानता आणि निसर्गाशी जवळीकता यांचा समावेश आहे. आदिवासींच्या समाजात आपणाला त्यांच्या एका क्षणाच्या सहवासात  त्यांच्या भव्यतेची, दिव्यतेची आणि चैतन्याची जाणीव होते. आदिवासींचा दृष्टिकोन उपयोगितावादी आणि 'जगा  आणि जगू द्या' या विचारसरणीला धरून आहे. मुख्य प्रवाहापासून दूर जंगलात राहनाऱ्या आदिवासी जमाती अजूनही सांस्कृतिक वैशिष्ट्यांसह जगत आहेत.प्रस्तुत शोधपत्रात आदिवासींचा जीवन परिचय व त्यांच्या सांस्कृतिक इतिहासावर प्रकाश टाकण्यात आलेला आहे.
