Rakesh’s plays depict the real-life events and incidents of the contemporary Indian society. Most of the plays deal with the theme of love, sex and violence. It reveals anger and frustration of the post-1960 generation in the Indian context. The ideas implicit in the themes are revolutionary. They are opposed to the conventional norms and established values. Rakesh explores human mind and its complexities in all depth and variety. He presents man-woman relationship in terms of sensuality and violence rather than love and affection. Regarding marriage, the play Half Way House projects two types of views through the character of Mahendranath and Savitri: traditional view of marriage expecting male-dominance and marriage as a companionship and as a means for self-fulfilment.

The
paper is an endeavor to explore the character of Marian in The Edible Woman by
Margaret Atwood. Atwood is a renowned name in the Canadian fiction. She is the
mouthpiece of Canadian people and reveals the real problems faced by them. She
is the literary giant who has presented the remedy to cure the problems faced
by women all over the world and particularly in Canada. All through her career
she has excelled in writing on diverse themes. In The Edible Woman Atwood has
beautifully exhibited Marian’s self-realization of distortion of her own
identity. Marian understands that if she marries him her identity would be
trampled. It is an attempt to understand the qualities and Crises of her
characters and to underline the transformation that a woman has to undergo in
order to reach her true potential. It also aims to highlight the kind of social
barriers and limitations that a woman has to face and ultimately break so that she
can be herself without any constraints.

The
present paper aims at analyzing Mahesh Elkunchwar’s play Garbo in terms of
creation and destruction. How the destruction of creation and its creator by
the destructive force occurred in this play is the major concern of this paper.
Garbo – the protagonist of the play has been murdered by Shrimant because she
has murdered their hope of life, which was also the creation of the trio- Intuc
, Shrimant and Pansy. Garbo, who has a different place in the life of these
three male characters; used her for their own sake. When she has decided
something for herself she has been brutally murdered as the only refuge has
been destructed by the creator herself. She was the medium who can take them
out from the insignificant life and can make their life meaningful but at last
the negative force gets strong and destruction has won over creation.

Women writers in India are moving forward with their strong and sure strides. The present analysis will focus on the demystification of the network of relationships held by the patriarchal discourse and the forms of resistances employed by women. The present study proposes to explore ‘The New Woman’ presented in the select novels of Manju Kapur. All domains of her growth-social, political and psychological shall remain the focus of investigation. The New image of Woman under study is ambitious, revolting, rational, powerful, and mixture of tradition and modernity. This evolving image of woman has created a crisis in family and society and has shaken the foundations of age-old institutions. This paper attempts to study the ways of subversion by Indian women who are culturally dislocated, portrayed by select women novelist.
Key words: patriarchal discourse, resistances, double exploitation, revolting.

The paper discussed Issues, Challenges
and Prospects of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) of electronic units
in Pune Region. This was informed by the high rate of unemployment in the
society and the poor performance of SMEs in employment generation. While the
research question addressed the extent to which poor financing, inadequate
social infrastructures, lack of managerial skills and multiple taxation
constitute major challenges in the performance of SMEs in 2000 & 2010, it
assumes that government intervention through the provision of financial
assistance, social infrastructure & favorable taxation policies will
reverse the trend.
The paper adopted a descriptive research design using 285 randomly selected registered Electronic units of SMEs in Pune Region. Results from the data analysis indicated that financing, inadequate social infrastructure, lack of managerial skills and multiple taxation were major challenges confronting SMEs of Electronic Units in Pune Region, thus recommended: provision of soft loans to SMEs operators, government guaranteeing of long term loans to SMEs operators, establishment of SMEs funding agency, public/ private sector partnership in infrastructural provision, capacity building for SMEs operators and provision of tax incentives for SMEs operators.

The paper analyses selected literary
writings of G.W.F Hegel and Sri Aurobindo, and therefrom attempts to place in
logical perspective, in the context of Indian renaissance, the similarities and
dissimilarities between their political thought. It seeks to place in Hegelian
perspective Aurobindo’s view that realities, exterior to a citizen are in fact,
materially tangible reflections of that particular individuals, internal calm
or turmoil. The individual is for Aurobindo, both in spirit and consciousness,
the microcosmic building block of a functional society, while in Hegels view
the spirit, both individual and universal, is not a personal but a social
construct. In the light of such fundamental premises, this paper seeks to
comprehend, through bringing in sharp contrast the thoughts of Sri Aurobindo
and Hegel, the antecedent phenomenology of political independence and its future
manifestations in literature and society...

There
is some debate as to whether "horror" is a genre or, like
"adventure," an aspect that may be found in several genres. Horror is
a certain mood or atmosphere that might be found in a variety of places.
Traditionally, horror was associated with certain archetypes such as demons,
witches, ghosts, vampires and the like. However, this can be found in other
genres, especially fantasy. If horror is a genre, then it deals with a
protagonist dealing with overwhelming dark and evil forces. The key ingredient
in horror fiction is its ability to provoke fear or terror in readers, usually
via something demonic. There should be a sense of dread, unease, anxiety, or
foreboding. Some critics have noted that experiencing horror fiction is like
reading about your worst nightmares. Summer Of night was more about the
"secrets and silences of childhood" than it was about monsters. Here
are a few snapshots from that summer of 1960 in the "real" Elm Haven
- Brimfield, Illinois - with a kid brother and some true friends who may (or
may not) bear a close resemblance to some of the characters in Summer Of Night.
Key Words- Horror, Novel, Summer of Night.

As
Nancy Rothburn says, "A strong woman understand that the gifts such as
logic decisiveness and strength are just as feminine as intuition emotional
connection. She values and uses all of her gifts", many Indian women
showed their decisiveness and strength in politics as an iron lady. The woman
is always considered weak and fragile on the basis of her womanly qualities
such as love and emotion. But, when she rebels and decides, she not only rivals
the man but also compels the man to command her. So, on her quality, Plato
says, "If women are expected to do the same work as men, we must teach
them the same things" .He means that woman has been gifted the same
quality and ability equivalent to the man. The history has shown that along
with the powerful men who changed the course of history, there were a number of
powerful women too who shone and blazed as a fiery path for countless women in
their journey of trials and tribulations. In the words of Dorothy L.
Sayers," Whenever you find a man, you will find a great mother or a great
wife standing behind him or so they used to say. It would be interesting to
know how many great women have had great father and husbands behind them".
So, we have to see such Indian women who sacrificed and spent the every moment
of pleasure and luxury for others and for their nation.

In field of IT sector to maintain privacy and confidentiality of data is very important for decision making. So there is requirement of certain data to be published and exchanging of the information is in demand. The data to be exchanged contains sensitive information which moves around various parties and this may violate individual’s privacy. So to preserve information in its accurate form while moving among various parties, my aim is to provide mechanism knows as k-anonymous technique that doesn’t allow the unauthenticated user to modify the data. In this application two protocols that will solve this problem based on suppression and generalization k-anonymous and confidential databases are used. The protocols rely on well-known cryptographic assumptions, and it provides theoretical analysis to proof their experimental results to illustrate their efficiency.

It is of significant interest to produce high performance multi blended mix concretes by using supplementary cementatious materials (SCM). In this research an attempt is made to compare the performance of multi blended mix concretes i.e. both binary and ternary mixes with ordinary Portland cement (OPC) concrete. In binary mixes cement was partially replaced by low calcium fly ash (LCFA) or silica fume (SF) and in ternary mixes both LCFA and SF were combined to partially replace OPC. The class F fly ash is used in different proportions of 20%, 30%and 40% and silica fume of 5% and 10% by weight of cement. A constant water binder ratio of 0.42 was maintained. Super plasticizer of required quantity was added to achieve the required degree of workability. The specimens were tested for compression at both 7 and 28 days. The multi blended mix concretes exhibited slightly higher compressive strength than OPC mix concrete and also better performance in short term strength development. The ultra-sonic pulse velocity was also carried out on all the multi blended mixes to assess the homogeneity of concrete.

The
aim of this paper is to explore historical roots and basic themes of
existentialism. The paper foregrounds the old philosophical controversy between
existence and essence. In this paper I shall try to examine the basic themes,
facts and arguments put forwarded by the existential philosophers. It also
highlights main features of existential philosophy including uniqueness of man
and his freedom which is unfettered and unrestrained. The paper
may try to indicate the fact that existentialism is the only philosophy which
considers individuality as supreme and emphasizes the importance of man as an
individual rather the man in general. In general terms the paper may be
approached and discussed how existentialism can be described as an attempt to
reach the inmost core of human existence in a concrete and individual fashion.

India is the fourth
largest country in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) and constitutes one of
the fastest growing markets in the world. Globalization of businesses,
infrastructural bottlenecks, increasing uncertainty of supply chain networks,
shortening of product life cycles and proliferation of product variety have
forced Indian firms to look beyond their four walls. They face issues related
to choosing and working with the right supply chain partners (suppliers,
customers and logistics service providers), fostering trust between them and
designing the right system of gauging performance.

The focus on the younger generation challenging established cultural norms is a common aspect in many contemporary books and films. The projection of the traditional beliefs and practices of a society is looked at in a critical manner by these authors from the perspective of the youth. Pakistani writer, Shajaf Fatima Haider, in her debut novel, How It Happened, focuses on the contemporary scenario in modern day Pakistan where traditional norms related to the conduct of marriages are challenged by the younger generation. This paper is an attempt to explore the cultural transitions in a society where established practices are found outdated by the youth. The paper also looks at the status of women in such a society where the clash between the old and the new comes to surface. The living representative of the old culture, the family’s matriarch, Dadi, tries her best to keep up the traditions of the past alive. This ‘glorious’ past reveals a time when the women were nothing less than mere puppets and their entire existence depended on how admirable they would prove to be in the marriage market. This paper takes up this particular issue and critically looks at the portrayal of such situation for women vis-à-vis the contemporary times when things have taken a different turn. Attempt has been made to understand the way the author presents the cultural transitions in a society where the status of women has undergone drastic changes but there still remain traces of the past engraved in the way of life.

The values of managers and employees in organizations are phenomena that have captured the interest of researchers, practitioners, social critics, and the public at large. Despite this attention, there continues to be a conspicuous lack of agreement on what values are and how they influence individuals. In this article we discuss how values have been defined and conceptualized. Focusing on values as desirable modes of behavior, we describe how they affect individuals in organizations and discuss some of the salient controversies that characterize contemporary research on values.

As
the world becomes more urbanized and developed consumption rates are on the
rise. An inevitable consequence of more consumption is the rapid increase in
the amount of solid waste that is produced. Today, solid-waste management (SWM)
conditions in the developing world are often quite dire and reminiscent of
those found in the developed world several generations ago. The impact of
inadequate SWM practices on natural and human environments is now being
acknowledged. This report is founded on a comprehensive literature review
