‘Escape’ is Manjula
Padmanabhan’s first novel for adults, published in 2008. The novel was
shortlisted for prestigious the Vodafone Crossword Book Award 2008. ‘Escape’
deals with the burning issue of declining sex-ratio. It goes one step ahead. In
this novel, the novelist portrays that women/females are eradicated, openly
they are killed for just being women. Even there is no feminine name for thing
or person. Now the clones are produced so there is no need of women. It shows
total extermination of womanhood. It is one step ahead of discrimination. It is
not the issue of gender-discrimination but female gender and related to it for
example names, memories, things, places all are destroyed. It is the cruellest.
Sumana Mukherjee considers Escape to be, “an allegory of adolescence and the
desire for experience, battle for control!”

This paper is to look at the impact of second order slip flow on MHD
boundary layer flow of micropolar fluid past a stretching sheet. The
administering non-direct conditions were decreased into coupled non-straight
higher order standard differential condition by utilizing fitting comparably
changes. At that point numerical methodology has been dealt with to illuminate
the differential conditions. We have utilized Runge-Kutta fourth order strategy
with shooting procedure to fathom the ODEs and utilized MATLAB programming to
drawing diagrams of velocity, temperature and microrotation profiles for
various benefits of administering parameters. Likewise varieties of the skin
grating coefficient and nearby Nusselt number are demonstrated graphically with
the end goal to watch the physical unsettling influences in the profiles. The
outcomes show that the skin friction coefficient increases as the estimations of slip parameter increase. However, the
local Nusselt number decreases as both slip parameters and increase. Excellent
agreement observed with previous study.

Increase in education, migration, sense of
equality, democracy, modernization, and values have encouraged women to step
out of the home to play equal role with male. Adivasi woman don’t have heard
the word gender equality but modernization and constant touch of elite society
have impressed them to go this way. Still women do a job to earn is not
sustained in male dominated era. There role is limited to bring up children,
helping in animal husbandry, and perform social customs. Ina ancient time
woman’s role was nearly equal to that of male but in medieval era it has put
many restrictions upon them. Such a restriction made their role in limitation.
To do house work, bring up children, preparing food are their major work during
the day. The limited work kept them away from earning which later on sidelined
and made dependent to male. Economic and
physical exploitation of women start from this time. Now a time has healed
their solution and has entered to new era of their own choice.

Seraph on the Suwannee is the last work
of Zora Neale Hurston. It was published
in 1948, unfortunately it did not receive much appreciation and has
often been termed as an awkward novel perhaps this is so, because Hurston chose
her characters to be Southern whiter rather than her usual African American
characters. Hurston through Seraph critically examines the white culture and
society and exposes its hollowness. Seraph on the Suwanee is a story about poor
Southern whites or “crackers” who are constantly struggling to improve their
economic conditions. The protagonist is a white female Arvay Henson living in
the town of Sawley. Arvay secretly fantasizes about her brother-in-law Carl
Middleton who is married to her elder sister Larraine. At the age of sixteen
she decides to become a missionary. Arvay is a beautiful girl but purposely
keeps her suitors away by throwing hysterical fits at whoever tries to approach
her.

Social
media has pervaded all spheres of life ranging from the personal to the
political. It is revolutionising the whole world in a variety of ways. No
business, professional or personal activity is today imaginable without social
media. As it also spreads its reach in the academy, it is becoming a vital
appendage to the libraries. After initial reluctance to include it in services
and larger outreach, today the library community has harnessed social media in
various ways for better and quicker services. The immediate and wide connect it
offers has led to a paradigm shift in the field of library and information
sciences. However, as it is a developing scenario, it will still take more time
and many more adjustments to become a fully integral part of the library
system.
