Privatization increases profitability and efficiency in both competitive and monopolistic sectors. Full privatization has a greater impact than partial privatization and monopolistic sectors shows an increase in profitability that is higher than the component explained by increases in productivity, which reflects their market power. From the macroeconomic perspective, no conclusive evidence can be drawn, but the trends are favorable. The microeconomic evidence extremely supports this implication. Country specific data and cross-country data show that privatized firms improve their profitability after the sale, even controlling for macroeconomic and industry specific factors. This result is strengthen to different definitions of the profitability indicator, and holds different market structures. Deregulation policies have been shown to speed up the convergence process of firms to industry standards. Partial privatization has a lower effect on profitability when compared with full privatization.

To Adam Smith , the philosopher of market forces,‘ the
consumer is the sole end and purpose of all
production and the interest of the producers ought to be attended to only so
far as it may be necessary for promoting that of the consumers’. With the
market forces gaining momentum and the
National Economics of the world coming together for greater collaboration , the
Consumer is emerging as the kingpin. But at the present time the consumer finds
himself as a victim of many unfair and unethical tactics adopted in the
market place . Moreover he can’t have
recourse to court litigation as it is expensive and protracted. Hence a
consumer needs protection from the deceptive business practices and as it is a
social injury so he needs legal protection. Over the years consumer rights laws
in this country have developed to afford
consumers with a range of protections and Consumer protection Act 1986 is among
one of the most important defence for them. Since we all are consumer of
one thing/service or another, so we all
are bound to get affected by it.Consequently consumer protection has become a
serious concern of the society and we
have to devise different mechanisms for safeguarding the consumer rights. The objective of my research
paper is to provide a critical and
objective analysis of the national legal protections endowed to the consumers
with a view to address the issue of consumer protection by linking it up with
the consumer education. I believe that my research paper would positively help
in making the consumer more informed, self-determined, critical, and
responsible and in building a fairer, and safer
society for the consumers.

The novel ‘Bhava’ has a
spiritualist motif which is a strong recurrent
motif in the literature of Dr. U R Ananathmurthy, by and large. The
quest for the meaning and origin,
liberation from “Bhava’ (existence) , ambition to reach a state of being free from
egotism, are his persistent themes . But
in his earlier works, they were overshadowed by more burning social issues like
cultural, fiscal, political topics. One may question whether the emotional twitching
of Jagannatha and Krishnegowda was just politically motivated or was it
spiritual? Similarly, did Keshava and
Stuart in “Clipjoint” merely crave for a change in the lifestyle? They were not explicitly categorized as purely extremely personal, social, political,
or spiritual feelings. One would
manifest within the other or all would give a synergic effect. ‘Bhava’ does not seem to have such an
intensity of complexity and ambition. It
is a very simple narrative. It has a
most unusual feature, atypical of U R Ananthamurthy, where the narrative gives
prominence to the chain of events,
and chance of coincidence. It has an
effort to stringing together all the
strands of the story at the end. Constituting the scattered images and strands
is the prime task of the story . The
author seems to present a narrative that is free from the intrigues of society
and politics which is purely humane. He seems to suggest that the intrigues are
not important, rather, what is important is the way in which we live our daily
lives.

Divakaruni gives importance to the suppression of Indian women by means of family

The cultural loss and tension faced by the heroes of Naipaul underlines to some extent their exiled or displaced status, their inability to belong anywhere, be it the black or the white world. The theme of colonial history presents the trauma of the West Indians, their status as cultural hybrids, coupled with their inability to believe in their own power, thus turning them into colonial heroes created by oppression and dominance. Naipaul, in his fiction and non-fiction has been lamenting the facts of illiteracy among the Caribbeans. The non-person status of the slave crystallized by the colonial system is obviously manifested in all areas of experience. Naipaul has continued to portray the individual situation in different nations and landscapes. He is intensely interested in what happens to the individuals in a colonial set-up. Naipaul's treatment of character in colonial literature marks a significant change, his fiction opens a new phase characterized by a sense of loss, of an identity prematurely crushed by being derived from a culture that oppresses it.

In the nineteenth century, poetry began to be regarded as non-propositional, an expressive mainly of feeling and independent of truth as known scientifically, and thus having an intrinsic value in itself. There are, however, several links between Keats and the present day, which enable one to study his imagery very closely indeed. In the first place, Keats' poetry is more concrete. sensuous and less transitory than that of the other Romantics. There are, however, several links between Keats and the present day, which enable one to study his imagery very closely indeed. Keats' odes are not of this fashion as they are exceedingly sensuous, their images are concrete, which makes his odes have many layers of images, each reflecting the other until the internal organic quality of one of the odes is like that of a room of mirrors. His poetry probes beyond the mere verbal level of language and there can be no exaggeration to say that very few poem of the other Romantics have the power of synaesthesia which the odes of Keats possess.
